but as someone who is both a disney and pokemon fan a lot of it is probably nostalgia/hatred of change.
major shifts - in pr’s case, saban -> disney, and then disney -> saban again - always attract a lot of hate bc people like things the way they are comfortable with, which honestly i sort of get! it doesn’t help that both the shifts from saban to disney and then neo-tzachor were done right after fan-favorite seasons Time Force and RPM.

Okay, so
You guys remember how I said that there was an Auradonian Princess Charitable Foundation? Which is basically the Disney princesses and other Disney Heroines teaming up for charity work?
So, I’m calling it. Once in a while, the “Disney Villain Divas” (AKA Grimhilde (Evie’s mom), Tremaine, the Queen of Hearts, Maleficent, Cruella de Vil, Madame Medusa, Madame Mim, Ursula, Yzma, and Gothel) will just bust out some wine, plot some evil, and just generally complain (particularly about how Those Darn Kids just Don’t Get Quality Evil these days).
This probably already happens, thank you for the image. Probably lots of jokes about who’s getting old and comebacks at Maleficent being basically as old as Forever.

Narissa isn’t invited a whole lot but forget that, she’ll show up and sip some wine anyways, making all the barbs at the others. (They’re just mad she makes the evil witch queen look WORK without the headgear, Grimhilde and Maleficent).

I have no idea what the kids are doing while this is going on. Presumably either (if they’re younger) with a sitter or otherwise running wild. As long as they aren’t there interrupting the ladies wine and whine session.

Let’s be honest: the extent of parenting any Islanders have given to their kids is just “Don’t die,” and “Be Evil.” They’re otherwise left loose to make their own gangs, their mischief, and their fights, and provide for themselves, if Carlos’ entire situation is anything to go by.
About the only reason they’ll be angry at someone threatening or seriously injuring their kid is that you almost ripped up their ticket off the Isle.
Yeah, the kids are also
A) Help around whatever business they do
B) A little mini-them (AKA ego fluff)
or C) A way to further their own ambitions and ends.
And yeah, sure, we see some normal moments (like Maleficent going ‘Do it or you’re grounded, Missy’) and moments where we see the villains be genuinely affectionate - but overall? Let’s be real. There are none (or very very very precious few) of them who are fit to raise their children.
So, really, the purpose of a babysitter would be like ‘Make sure the kid isn’t dead, severely injured, too traumatized to be worth anything, sick, or missing, because that’s my ego boost and I’ll owe you one’. And probably when the kids are still too young to 100% know better about navigating the isle.
There’s a lot of terrible parenting on the Isle. Neglect is one area.
